Welcome to Rome— The Eternal City

We are beyond excited to share our version of this city with you. Rome is unlike anywhere else in the world—layered with history, beauty, and spirit. Every stone and fountain tells a story; every turn reveals something timeless. Even lifelong Romans will tell you they’ve only begun to uncover all that lives here.

It feels deeply meaningful to exchange our vows in The Eternal City—a place that has witnessed love, art, faith, and devotion for thousands of years. Rome reminds us that love, like the city itself is ever evolving and everlasting at its core.

Present-day Rome is just as enchanting. The people are warm, generous, and full of life—the kind who would truly give you the shirt off their back. And the food… in our opinion, there’s simply nowhere better. The freshest ingredients from every corner of Italy, prepared by chefs who treat cooking as an art form.

This guide is our way of sharing the Rome we love with you—our favorite neighborhoods, restaurants, experiences, and little secrets that make this city so special to us. We hope it helps you settle in, explore with wonder, and fall in love with Rome just as we have.

With love,

Cameron & Julianna

Getting to Rome ✈️

No matter where you’re coming from, there are several direct flights from the U.S. to Rome every day. You’ll also find many direct flights to other major European cities—like London, Madrid, and Barcelona—if you’d like to combine your trip with a short stopover.

We recommend tracking flight prices across multiple routes and keeping an eye on travel rewards or credit card points—you might be able to save or upgrade your journey.

The airport we recommend flying into is Rome Fiumicino.

Getting from the airport to the city 🚕

Once you arrive to Rome Fiumicino airport, getting to your accommodation in the city is fairly straight forward.

By Taxi: There is an official taxi stand in the Terminal 1 and 3 arrival areas of Rome Fiumicino. The fixed fare to the city center (within the Aurelian Walls) is €55.00. The line can sometimes look long, but we promise it usually moves quickly!

Authorized taxis are white, have a "TAXI" sign on the roof, and the license number is displayed on the doors and inside the vehicle.

By Private Transfer: If you prefer a more personalized experience—or are traveling with lots of luggage—you can arrange a private driver to meet you at the airport. Private transfers cost a bit more than a taxi but offer comfort, convenience, and peace of mind, especially if you’re arriving late or at an unusual time.

The following are some private transfer services we recommend:
